Opportunity

Full-time/ Part-time Teachers and Assistants:

Our Kids Place always looks to employ high-energy teachers who have a strong passion for teaching. Since we opened our doors in 1991, providing a safe and nurturing environment has always been our number one priority. This begins with making sure our teachers and support staff keep our students needs at the top of their lists. We encourage teachers and students to apply who have a love for learning and are ready to help mold the future leaders of our community.

We hope you join us for a wonderful opportunity to learn as well as build life-long friendships and memories within our OKP family!

Internship Opportunities:
In an effort to better enhance the development of our community, we offer an internship program for high school and college students. The chosen students must be in good academic standing. They must also be willing to assist pre-school students in completing daily tasks between the hours of 2:30 and 6:30 p.m. (unless otherwise arranged). Students who need community service hours or education hours in the classroom may complete this here as well.

Internship registration is ongoing. Upon the completion of this program, students will receive a letter of recommendation for future college applications. Please note, students must complete the full internship and be in good standing with the company to get full recognition for the program. Students who cannot receive a stipend due to program regulations (speak to your professor to see if you can receive said stipend) should make this clear at their appointment.

Intern Testimonial
“I have always enjoyed working with young children and helping them learn through playing and teaching. When I first began working as an intern at Our Kids Place in Hewlett, for their summer camp program, I was an introverted college freshman. I was very nervous about interacting with young children. However, as I became more familiar with the children and staff, my confidence in my abilities to work with others increased. Since then, I am currently enjoying my time working part time at Our Kids Place as a teacher’s aide. My internship and position at Our Kids Place has helped me to gain and improve various skills such as creativity and responsibility, as well as, time management. My experience working at Our Kids Place as a college student has not only been rewarding, but educational.”
